So, it’s cheaper to fill-up, It’s greener than any other vehicle and there is no need for foreign gas ! So, what if it doesn’t go as fast, they keep lowering the speed lmt. anyway !

Time to re-design our autos to make sense !
This is an opportunity to create new US jobs !
The Gas stations will have? to retool for natural gas !

In many other countries they have their cars custom fitted to
take natural gas tanks at a cost of about a thousand dollars !
Let’s think on the positives !

  27. 40markava on July 24th, 2010 9:09 pm

Compressed gas is safe there is a pressure relief valve gas is light so it goes up. Petrol pours onto you or the street and sets everything on fire!

  28. rsmith1027 on July 24th, 2010 9:38 pm

I’ve lived in Brazil off/on since 2004. I have noticed recently more & more cars at filling stations in Brazil getting filled with Nat. Gas.!! Brazilians love this because it’s cheaper per liter than petrol.

I just watched a big “B.S.” interview on CNBC. Some “expert” was saying it’s too expensive to convert gas stations over to Nat.Gas Stations!
Listen!,….next month I’ll be back down in Brazil. Shall I ask the Brazilians how they did it within “budget”?

@Charles2337 propane is a bit more expensive, and it puts a lot more strain on the valves and rockers, because propane burns at a hotter temperature, so unless the engine is designed for propane it is harder on the gas engine, where as cng is easier on the engine, and burns clean enough to change your oil every 7000 miles instead of 3000

  31. Freshtodeath2000 on July 24th, 2010 10:56 pm

lol at 1:51 she looks crazy, anyhow back to topic, id love to see this thing in a real world test i dunno maybe a rear end collision?

  32. VALsacount2 on July 24th, 2010 11:47 pm

    Gas has fumes too.

  33. VALsacount2 on July 25th, 2010 12:28 am

    Just used diesel.

  34. VALsacount2 on July 25th, 2010 12:39 am

We can also make biogas out of our own poo, but sadly my dad (who used to work for city government) said nat gas has no performance.

  35. VALsacount2 on July 25th, 2010 1:33 am

There is the danger of the car having a leak, and ignition, forming little buriner. So the fuel line shouldn’t be under the passengers.

  36. VALsacount2 on July 25th, 2010 2:25 am

Compressor strength man. Your gas station probably has an industrial compressor, that thing is in an old man’s garage.

  37. youngbleeb on July 25th, 2010 3:02 am

@vampov legally you cant mix fuels. practically, you maybe could but propane runs 23.5:1 air fuel ratio, and CNG is only 10:1, may be some operating issues

  38. youngbleeb on July 25th, 2010 3:05 am

@fdief it has to do with line pressures. Main CNG fuel stations come off a line of 1600psi +

At home, the supply lines are reduced to <2psi, so the compressor takes quite long to fill. This only applies to filling at HOME.

  39. Charlymaumushi on July 25th, 2010 3:18 am

    mmmmmmmm chicken

  40. Charlymaumushi on July 25th, 2010 4:03 am

    Fuck honda

  41. chechnya on July 25th, 2010 4:19 am

A gas station is commercialized where they use high pressure. A home refueling station is extremely low pressure so it takes time for it to build up enough pressure. HUGE difference. Commercialized CNG is around 3000-3600 PSI and residential CNG is at 5-50PSI.

  42. moabsafari on July 25th, 2010 4:57 am

I’m also in Utah, and the answer to your question is NO. At least without modification. 1. The natural gas you fill up with is gaseous not liquid. Propane vehicles are filled with liquid propane. 2. Most CNG (compressed natural gas) and LPG [(Liquefied Petroleum Gas) aka Propane] vehicles both have a “Compuvalve” which is specific to which fuel it was design for. 3. The filler nozzle is totally different. SO…. ….just don’t run out! :) I’ll see you at the filling station.

  43. fdief on July 25th, 2010 5:56 am

wow, this guy takes 8 HOURS to get his CNG car refueled???? C’mon, in Brazil we take about 2 MINUTES to do it…. in any common gas station!!!

  44. VaktaSmegMan on July 25th, 2010 6:55 am

Actually research show’d that it’s more likley too go kaboom as you put it in a regular petrol driven car than a ng car, because the gas is very light so it will just float into the atmosphere indstead of frying you like kfc.

  45. vampov on July 25th, 2010 7:45 am

This is my question there are plently of CNG refueling stations in Utah but lets say for some weird reason I run out. Could I put Proprane in my car to get me back to a CNG station.

  46. stellarprime on July 25th, 2010 7:50 am

cng is so much cleaner than everything else and with the shale find in the usa we are good to go for the next 118 years. Why not look into this further so we can save money and keep it domestic?

  47. uncaljeff on July 25th, 2010 8:18 am

honda pulled the pin on this, you cant get it any more. they are basterds.

  48. Alvord1430 on July 25th, 2010 8:35 am

Who wants to get blown up in a CNG wreck when you can get a soothing bath of flammable gasoline instead. Decades of action movies clearly demonstrate that cars fueled by gasoline explode too.

  49. giant648 on July 25th, 2010 9:21 am

one crash and KABOOM!!! its more dangerous than regular gasoline.

  50. Alvord1430 on July 25th, 2010 9:43 am

Pakistan is on the forefront of CNG use. Same for Argentina. We don’t have many CNG stations in the U.S.;however, almost every home here has a natural gas supply line. Home fueling has tremendous potential here. I recently did a bi-fuel CNG conversion on my Toyota. It cost over $5000 U.S. What does a CNG conversion cost in Pakistan? I like being able to choose between Petrol and CNG. In some parts of the U.S. , CNG costs under $1 per gallon.
