Can you answer Caleb kisses Momma w/that mouth!’s question about Anti-Aging?:

I’m 26 and wondering if now is a good time to start using anti aging creams. I don’t have any wrinkles yet but I want to prevent them as long as possible….. is beginning them now a good idea? And if so, what are some good creams?

Anti-Aging Feedback: Better to start using it now…by the time you’re older it would be pointless. =)

Anti-Aging Feedback: I personally use Avon for my skincare. I am 28 years old and use the Anew Rejuvinate line. The creams work great for the first signs of aging.

Anti-Aging Feedback: I started at 19. The best wrinkle protector is sunscreen. I am now 36, but people who meet me think I’m in my mid-20s. It’s never too early to start.

Anti-Aging Feedback: Wait until your mid 30’s or so. The anti-aging creams cause moisture to come to the surface, reducing the appearance of wrinkles. You have no need for that yet. Use a good skin cream rather than an anti-aging cream. And the best out there is actually inexpensive – Eucirin or something like that. You can get it at a drug store. It really does work better and is recommended by dermatologists. I am 42 and have the skin of someone in their 20’s. Don’t spend $200 for La Mer and stuff like that.

Anti-Aging Feedback: I started using anti-aging creams for my eyes only at around age 40. I like Avon’s eye creams the best. I use Avon Solutions Hydrofirming Eye Cream the most. Their other eye creams are good too, like Anew, but they are more expensive. I still have oily skin, so I don’t need any for my face. Avon has good face creams, as well. By the way, I don’t work for Avon, I just love their products.

I don’t think you really need to start using anti-aging creams at 26, but that’s up to you.

Anti-Aging Feedback: You really don’t need a wrinkle cream yet in your 20s. However, I have heard of dermatologists recommending a cream containing retinol as a preventative measure if you so desire, as anti aging creams help prevent wrinkles as much as they can repair after the fact!

As long as your willing to start taking care of your skin NOW- you may not ever need a wrinkle cream!

Some things to keep in mind for taking care of your skin in your 20s is prevention!

    1. Use sunscreen every day- sun or no sun (wear it under your makeup or have an spf based foundation or powder)

    2. Learn to incorporate skin-friendly foods into your diet. These include antioxidant rich foods like berries…and make sure to get your 7-13 servings of fruits and veggies daily. Fish like salmon is also good for its omega 3s.
