It does help a lot to minimize the size of your pores but what it really does is takes off the first layer of your skin so your face wash will penetrate deeper in your pores. An acid peel will burn a bit after if you use it. Oh and it isn't very painful. the person doing it has different levels they can put the machine on depending on the sensitivity of your skin. Just make sure you ask them for a sunscreen that wont clog your pores to use after the treatment because your face will be more prone to sunburn. Hope that helped!
