Thinking of downloading an anti spyware from the internet? Better think twice.

Downloading an anti spyware is not as easy as it looks. It is not just the case of opening the website you intend to get the program from, click the “download now” button, wait for it to be finished from the site, and simply install them on your computer by following the installation procedures. There are still a few basics you need to know about your computer and the software you are going to download before actually proceeding.

THE BASICS OF DOWNLOADING ANTI SPYWARE ON THE WEB
RULE 1) You need to determine for what purpose your computer is for. Is it for home or office use? Or for business or enterprise use?

Technically speaking, the needs of your computer for such programs depend mainly on the purpose and application. Ask yourself, do you need fast scanning performance? Pop-up blockers? Download protection? Do you have a limited MB size available or subscription support and automatic live updates? Then look for software programs made for home users only. While for business ends, although you still need the basics of security protection – like the ones made for home use – you have a more stringent requirement such as detailed log of all virus and spyware protected, automatic alerts and large virus definition database, optimuml detection capabilities, and protection from key loggers even within boundaries of larger networks.

RULE 2) What kind of anti spyware or anti-virus specific performance do you want? This can pertain to the different anti virus and anti spyware products found on the web, each one performs according to their designs and what they were made for.

The following are some examples:

RULE 3) Determine the system requirements of the software program you intend to download, and check if it is compatible with yours. Of course, different software programs require certain integral and operating systems for it to work properly and efficiently.

Some software programs require variety of Windows 2000 and other editions, or Windows XP with browser selection of Internet Explorer, whether the 6.0 or 5.5 versions. Others require an available disk space of 64MB up to 200MB or more, depending on the functionality of the software it can always go higher.
